Satisfying Your Sweet Tooth: A Delicious Homemade Dessert with Weight Loss Benefits

January 2, 2024

Since starting the weight loss journey, many women consider desserts as their number one enemy. But can't we satisfy our sweet tooth while still losing weight? Of course we can! Below is a recipe for a homemade dessert that is not only delicious but also has weight loss benefits!

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana, cut into small pieces

1 cup of water

Approximately 150ml of chocolate or strawberry flavored yogurt

1 tablespoon of pure milk powder (try to find one without artificial additives or sweeteners)

1 tablespoon of pure cocoa bean powder (to add a chocolate flavor to the dessert and provide antioxidant benefits)

Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together until well blended, and it's ready to be enjoyed.

Benefits: This dessert is quick and easy to make. The banana and yogurt provide carbohydrates to replenish the energy expended during exercise, while the milk powder and yogurt provide protein to repair muscle tissue damaged during exercise. (Remember, although this dessert is delicious, it is also high in calories and should only be consumed after exercise.)

Note: If you don't like the chocolate flavor, you can skip adding the tablespoon of cocoa bean powder. If you don't like bananas, you can use frozen strawberries or other fruits as a substitute. As for the yogurt, you can choose a fruit-flavored or plain yogurt based on your personal preference.

Tips:

Bananas are rich in potassium and magnesium, making them suitable for replenishing energy during exercise. Potassium helps prevent high blood pressure and muscle cramps, while magnesium has fatigue-reducing effects.

Bananas are also effective for weight loss because they are low in calories and rich in dietary fiber. Despite being sweet, bananas are often mistakenly assumed to be high in calories. In reality, a single banana (about 100 grams) contains only 87 calories, which is less than half the calories of a typical serving of rice (150 grams, 220 calories). Additionally, the potassium in bananas can help prevent fat accumulation in the lower body, making them beneficial for slimming the legs.

However, bananas are not suitable for everyone. Nutritionists advise that individuals with acute or chronic kidney disease or impaired kidney function should not consume excessive amounts of bananas. For these patients, it is recommended to limit banana intake to half a banana per day.

Furthermore, individuals with diabetes should be mindful of their banana consumption due to its high sugar content.
