Infrared ear temperature gun how to use

September 4, 2023
As a new type of temperature measuring instrument, infrared ear temperature gun measurement precision and accuracy, only one second to be able to measure the body temperature, its use is convenient and accurate, suitable for infants and children's temperature measurement, many mothers favored. So how to use the ear temperature gun to measure body temperature correctly?

Check the ear thermometer

Since infrared ear thermometer is a precision measuring instrument, you should check whether the probe film is damaged before using it, and then wear a good rubber sleeve. If there is damage, do not continue to use.

Room temperature calibration

The ear temperature gun needs to adapt to the ambient temperature when it is first taken out of the box, so direct measurement may result in inaccurate data.

Measurement method

To get the correct temperature, align the probe with the eardrum as much as possible and keep it close to the ear canal. For infants and children, pull the ear backwards and pull the head of the ear temperature gun into the ear. For adults over the age of three, pull the ear up and back. Place the probe into the ear canal tightly, press the temperature button for one second, and the temperature measurement is finished when you hear a sound.

Multiple measurements on the same side

To improve the accuracy of the measurement data, take the highest value of the measurement results for 3 consecutive times. Note that since the temperature of the left and right ear of the same person is usually slightly different, it is best to take the same ear each time for comparison.

Precautions

Before using the ear temperature gun to measure body temperature, the ear wax should be cleaned before accurate measurement; after using the ear temperature gun, the rubber sleeve should be discarded and not reused to avoid cross infection. If the measured temperature is less than 35°C, it may be due to improper use of the ear thermometer and needs to be remeasured.
